The good - we have just returned from a wonderful stay at Villa Magda, a spacious villa in a fab location, a 10-minute walk to the centre of Marina Di Ragusa. We had a group of 14 (7 adults, 7 kids ranging from 4-17). There was ample space in the 3 floors of the villa that we occupied,for everyone to have some peace and quiet. The owners of the villa occupy the top floor-with a separate entrance to the living space, but a shared gate to enter the property. We hired the private chef for a special birthday celebration and would highly recommend-it was a lovely, relaxed evening. We made full use of the pool area each day of our 2-week stay. The shading over the pool is a great feature when spending hours out in strong sun. The fact that you can walk to Marina Di Ragusa from the villa was the main reason we chose this villa, and it was great to not have to rely on cars/taxis to go out each evening. Marina Di Ragusa is a great family-centred beach town-with lots of great cafes/restaurants/gelaterias. It is also a great base to have day trips around south-east Sicily-highly recommend Siracusa and Ragusa Ibla. We had a very memorable overnight stay to visit Mount Etna and the Etnaland park-approx 2 hrs away from the villa. The bad - the hill back up to the villa from the town centre! The ugly - we had an extremely stressful check-out from the villa. As a group, we have rented villas around the world (1st time in Sicily) so are very well used to renting and take great care of any property we rent. On our departure, we expected a quick 'Buon Viaggio' and we'd be on our way. How wrong we were! Elena came in on a mission - first up - the rubbish. Unacceptable! We spent A LOT of time separating it into the correct bins, and and making sure it went out each day. However, as we left on Thursday, what were we, for example, to do with bottles when the last bottle pick up during our stay was Monday? Next up,a missing pillow case! What?! An umbrella that was down instead of up, a stove that was dirty (what were we paying $200 in cleaning fees for?!). Then, the major one-a scratched headboard that we felt was honed in on a little too conveniently. It turned into major drama and was very upsetting. We definitely recommend this villa, it is comfortable and a great location. However, we would recommend spending a minimum of 1 hour with Elena on arrival to comb through the villa for any potential issues you may find and have them fully documented.

The check-out activity is a important phase of my work: it takes time especially in large villas like Villa Magda. I hope to have you again as a guest in one of our villas.

Overall, a very pleasant experience. We had no issues and the communication was very easy with the property manager. They were accommodating with our special needs My only criticism is that the jacuzzi was not a hot tub. It was the same temperature as the pool.

Siamo stati ospiti della struttura ad Agosto 2018. La casa è una bellissima villa su 4 piani, posizionata in città, dotata davvero di tutti i comforts richiesti, le camere sono pulite, ampie e ben arredate. La piscina è davvero stupenda e funzionale così come tutte le attrezzature di cui è dotata la casa. Oltretutto le terrazze e gli spazi esterni diversificati rendono possibile ritagliarsi spazi e momenti di quiete anche quando si è in gruppi numerosi (eravamo in 16 in casa). Davvero una casa che vale la pena di vivere per passare delle vacanze piacevoli! All’ultimo piano della villa abita la proprietaria che è una signora fantastica, di rara generosità ed educazione. Davvero una persona meravigliosa che ci ha invitato nel suo appartamento e ci ha fatto gustare anche prodotti tipici locali. A coronamento di tutto, l’agenzia che segue la locazione della Villa. Elena è una giovane signora capace e preparata. Sa essere di supporto e aiuto quando necessario. Devo dire un’organizzazione perfetta. Grazie ancora!

Hi Elena, I am finally back home in Toronto after being away for 3 weeks and I just wanted to tell you that the 2 weeks we spent with our family in Marina di Ragusa was the best time we had. The villa was much more than we expected and added to our great experience in Sicily. It was perfect for our large family that stayed there and the family that visited us from Sicily.
